Terms of Service

Last updated: April 11, 2026

By using Rebate Scout, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Nature of the service

Rebate Scout is an informational tool. We are NOT an agent, employee, broker, affiliate, or representative of any state government, utility, federal agency, or rebate program administrator. We do not administer rebates, approve applications, or process payments on behalf of any program.

Not tax or financial advice

Nothing on this site constitutes tax, legal, or financial advice. Our estimates are based on publicly available IRS guidelines, state rebate program details, and the answers you provide. Actual credit amounts depend on your complete tax situation. We recommend consulting a qualified tax professional before making financial decisions based on our estimates.

Data freshness labels (defined)

Verified. Matched official state/federal portal in the last 24-48 hours via automated scan. Data freshness indicator only — not a determination of your legal eligibility.

Based on prior cycle (historic). Based on historic program patterns. Source URL structure may have changed. Verify eligibility directly with the provider before acting.

Pending re-verification (stale). Our scan detected a discrepancy or timeout since last check. Manual verification required before you rely on this.

Data freshness labels are probabilistic indicators of when we last checked the source, not a legal determination of your eligibility for any program. You must independently verify eligibility with the administering authority before incurring any cost in reliance on our report.

User verification requirement

You agree that before making any purchase, installation, financing decision, or claim in reliance on a Rebate Scout report, you will independently verify your eligibility directly with the administering program authority (the state agency, utility, or federal program listed in the report). Rebate Scout is not liable for your reliance on out-of-date or inaccurate information between verification cycles.

Accuracy and limitations

We make every effort to keep our information current, including verified links to government portals and accurate program statuses. However:

The action plan report

The paid action plan ($12) includes step-by-step instructions, direct links to government forms and portals, time estimates, and deadlines.

Refunds & Limitation of Liability

Refund guarantee. If the credits identified in your report do not exceed the $12 purchase price, we will refund your purchase in full. Contact us at support@mail.rebatescout.co to request a refund.

Limitation of liability.Rebate Scout's aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to any error, omission, inaccuracy, staleness, or unavailability of the Service — whether in contract, tort, negligence, misrepresentation, statutory violation, or otherwise — is strictly limited to a refund of the $12 purchase price of your report. This refund is your sole and exclusive remedy.

No consequential or indirect damages. Rebate Scout is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

This limitation applies even if Rebate Scout has been advised of the possibility of such damages, and even if the limited remedy fails of its essential purpose.

Automated alerts — nature of

Our rebate alerts are automatically generated based on our scanning of public program portals. Alert content is a probabilistic detection, not a verified legal notice. Do not rely on any alert without independently verifying with the administering authority. Subject lines and body content use conditional language (“potential update,” “may have changed”) because the detection is automated and may be incorrect.

Referral program

When you share your referral link and a friend purchases an action plan, you receive a $4 automatic refund to your original payment method, up to a maximum of $12 total (3 referrals — enough to fully refund your report). Referral rewards are processed automatically through Stripe.

Rebate alerts

Our free alert service monitors state rebate program statuses and notifies you of changes. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any alert email or contacting us.

Intellectual property

The Rebate Scout name, design, and content are our property. You may share your results and referral links freely. You may not scrape, reproduce, or redistribute our content or data.

Audit trail

Rebate Scout retains an internal audit snapshot of each report (source URLs checked, scraper version, timestamps) for at least four years to support the resolution of any dispute.

Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes to the Liability, Refunds, or Data Freshness sections will be re-disclosed to you on your next purchase.
